TECH/510 - Using Apps in the Classroom
Course Description
This course introduces K-12 teachers to the use of apps in the classroom. A variety of apps to supplement classroom instruction are examined. Tools to support students and teachers in creating original apps are also explored. Participants design an original app to supplement instruction.This graduate course is 2 weeks.

Attendance and participation are mandatory in all university courses, and specific requirements may differ by course. If attendance requirements are not met, a student may be removed from the course. Please review the Course Attendance Policy in the Catalog for more information.
This course is not available for enrollment to residents of Alabama, Arkansas, and Kentucky.
Course Objectives
Apps for Learning
- Identify the benefits of using apps for learning.
- Recommend apps to supplement classroom instruction.
- Create a lesson plan that utilizes apps for learning.
Creation of Original Apps
- Explore tools to support teachers and students in creating original apps.
- Develop instructional activities that encourage student creation of apps.
- Create an original app to supplement instruction.
