CIS/297 - Computer Security and Operational Support Fundamentals
Course Description
This course provides an introduction to the fundamentals of network security across devices. Topics include operational procedures and best practices for troubleshooting and providing end-user support. This course provides theory and practice troubleshooting operating systems across devices. This course and CIS/295 align with the requirements of the CompTIA A+ 220-1102 exam.
This undergraduate course is 5 weeks.

Week 1
- Use Windows® tools used to solve problems with Windows, applications, and hardware.
Week 2
- Solve Windows startup problems.
Week 3
- Secure a Windows computer.
- Secure files and folders.
Week 4
- Secure resources on a network.
- Describe policies for data destruction and disposal.
Week 5
- Support macOS®.
- Support Linux.
- Identify basic scripting methods.
